Meeting the Representatives of Professional Colleges

On September 25, GIZ and ICCA held a meeting with participation of the Department of Development of Professional Education, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. Representatives of professional colleges with construction major attended the meeting.
GIZ program expert Maka Zakareishvili and ICCA Executive Director Ana Sabakhtarishvili discussed future plans and initiatives for cooperation with the colleges. Representatives of the professional colleges had an opportunity to confer their own visions and essential prospects for the development of cooperation.

The meeting was held within the framework of an ongoing project by GIZ “Promoting the Engagement of a Private Sector in Professional Education in South Caucasus”. One of the project’s key objectives is to strengthen the engagement of the private sector in professional
education, to increase the scale of the programs implemented through a dual approach and to support equipping professional college students with skills that are adequate to the job market.
Construction sector which is supported by GIZ is a growing aspect in Georgia’s labour market and it is in a constant need for qualified human resources. With support from GIZ, ICCA is developing this area within the framework of a new project and is planning a number of significant activities in this regard.
