
On September 28, 2017, in the administrative building of the Technical University of Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development,
the Infrastructure Construction Companies’ Association and the German International Cooperation Society (GIZ) program “Development of Private Sector and Vocational Education in the South Caucasus”, Supported by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), organized a forum – “Professional Skills for Building, Construction for Professional Skills”.
The aim of the forum was to discuss private and public sectors together with educational institutions and to address the gaps in the education system and find solutions to fix those; The speeches were given by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irma Kavtaradze;
Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Ketevan Natriashvili; Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia; GIZ – Director of Private Sector and Technical Vocational Education Program in the South Caucasus, Katia Camerier; Chairman of Infrastructure Construction Companies’ Association, Director of LLC “IN-SI” Zviad Toidze, Executive Director of Infrastructure Construction Companies’ Association, Ana Sabakhtarishvili, Representatives of Association member companies: Member of the Board, Corporate Director of “Sakenergoremonti”, Levan Dvali; David Kviria, General Director of “Elita Burji” Company; Paata Gogoladze, partner of “Basalt Fibers” LLC; Director of “Elite Motors” LLC. Zviad Antelidze; Also, the professors of the Technical University in the field of construction.
Forum was attended by an experts of construction field, members of expert unions, Association members and other construction companies. An interesting discussion was held between the audience and the speakers, the issues related to the needs of employers in terms of vocational education and various events were planned for future partnerships and for finding solutions.
