SafCo Company and Infrastructure Construction Companies Association invite you to a joint seminar \u2013 Environment and Environmental Regulations in Georgia.
\u201eSafCo\u201c is an independent health and labor safety company staffed by 15+ years of international experience and highly certified personnel in the field.
SafCo is a licensed provider and partner of the international organization IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) and offers a variety of occupational safety services to meet the requirements of the state law, increase the safety culture in their companies and achieve internationally recognized standards.
The Infrastructure Construction Companies Association is a non-profit, membership-based, non-commercial organization which actively works on the development of the construction sector.
The Association unites the manufacturers of construction woks and materials, material\/construction distributors operating in the Georgian market, distributors of heavy equipment, financial\/insurance institutes, inspectors, experts and other interested companies who have expressed a desire to support the activities of the Association.
Seminar \u201cEnvironment and Environmental Regulation in Georgia\u201d is focused on providing the attendees with the information of the possibilities of managing activities with sustainable methods and increase their social and environmental responsibility as implementers of their activities, to give them the appropriate knowledge to become more effective and competitive in the long run by properly managing the risks of the natural and social environment and to become able manage their own activities in accordance with the national legislation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar consists of two main parts: the first part of the presentation, based on a specific example, discusses the dire consequences of an industrial accident and how important it is to take into account environmental and social factors in addition to economic factors in project
planning and implementation. This section of the seminar will discuss existing and sustainable business models. We will talk about ecosystem services and their importance, as well as the principles of sustainable development and environmental issues.
The second part of the seminar will focus on the legislative requirements in Georgia in recent years \u2013 the Environmental Assessment Code and the Waste Management Code, which impose certain obligations on companies. In this context, the attendee will be introduced to the documents, the preparation of which is mandatory for those who carry out their activities. The goals of the Seminar:
To give the attendee an idea of the importance of proper management of the natural and social
environment, as well as the possibilities of balancing the interests of the environment and
development.
To give the attendee an idea of the socio-economic, political, cultural and institutional contexts
in which the management of the natural and social environment is carried out and without which
it is impossible to achieve sustainable development goals at the local, national and international
levels.
To make the attendees understand and share the principles of responsible attitude and sustainable use towards the natural and social environment.
Develop awareness of ecosystem services and develop a value-based approach to these
services;
Introduce the means of reflecting development projects at the economic cost of environmental and social value;
To provide the attendee the knowledge about the requirements of the Environmental Assessment and Waste Management Codes in Georgia;
Develop a responsible attitude towards the natural and social environment.
Seminar results:
Upon completion of the seminar, the attendee will have an idea of sustainable environmental management methods;
The attendee will be able to plan and implement projects in accordance with the requirements of
environmental and social responsibility;
The seminar will help the trainee to identify and properly manage the important environmental and social issues during the project planning, implementation and management stages.
The attendee will be able to better assess the real value of development projects.
Upon completion of the seminar, the attendee will have the knowledge of the newly enacted
regulatory framework in Georgia in accordance with the requirements of the Association
Agreement.
The trainee will be able to plan and implement activities in accordance with the requirements of the legislation;
The seminar will help the trainee successfully go through various stages of obtaining a construction permit at the planning stage of infrastructure projects.
The seminar will help the attendee to understand the responsibilities related to waste management.
The seminar will be interesting for middle and senior managers of the private sector, whose responsibilities include managing the environmental and social components of the company`s activities; Also, for any interested person, as long as the course does not require specific knowledge in this area.
